Building User Design (Building User Design Solutions Ltd) was established to provide clients with Access Consultancy, User Experience and People Centred design advice, training and research, on strategic through to technical matters within a wide range of built environments. 

Whether someone is a proprietor, employee, visitor, service user, or customer, they are all users of built environments.  We believe user experiences have a significant impact on the success of your organisation, and that there is value to be had in seeking our input.

Steve Maslin BA (Hons). DipArch (Plym). RIBA. NRAC Consultant, FSI:

  • RIBA Chartered Architect since 1992
  • Consultant Member of the National Register of Access Consultants since 2003
  • Research Fellow at the Schumacher Institute for Sustainable Systems since 2012 (now Senior Research Fellow)
  • Design Council CABE Built Environment Expert
  • Member of BRE Global's Standing Panel of Experts
  • Member of the British Standards Institute Committee responsible for BS8300 and other access standards whilst also chairing the neuro-diversity working group and advising committees for sustainability, facilities management and symbols
  • With former employment within architectural practice and organisations providing social services, housing and social provision
